Commercial Accountant | Permanent Role | Cairns Based

The Client

A reputable and leading local business located in Cairns. Our client prides themselves on their expertise and operation in Building, Infrastructure, and Industrial Services in a variety of both large and smaller capital works projects.



The Opportunity

Our client is currently requiring a Commercial Accountant to deliver the daily operations of the Finance Department in addition to assisting with the financial reporting and governance of the organisation.



About You

To be considered for this role, you will require previous experience in:

• Ensuring the provision of timely and professional accounting services, including the preparation of financial statements, the maintenance and integrity of the general ledger and the chart of accounts and the production of financial reports.
• Assisting in the preparation of Monthly Consolidated Profit and Loss and Balance Sheet.
• Ensuring appropriate systems and internal controls are implemented and maintained.
• Assisting in the timely compliance of statutory requirements in addition to the preparation and submission of tax returns.
• Assisting in providing support to external auditors.
• Assisting in the preparation of Budgets, Forecasts and Cash flows.
• Providing advice to internal and external stakeholders on accounting and financial management policies, processes and procedures requiring the application of technical knowledge.

You will also require a recognized tertiary qualification in Accounting, Business and/or Finance.
